The comedic actor had a long career in film, playing alongside Richard Pryor and Madeline Kahn.
Variety is reporting that actor Gene Wilder has died, he was 83-years-old.
The actor built a career around doing Mel Brooks comedies such as “Blazing Saddles,” and “Young Frankenstein.”
But he is probably better known for his role as the strange chocolatier in the 1971 film, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”
In the late 70's and early 80's, Wilder had a handful of sucessful films starring with Richard Pryor including "Silver Streak" and "Stir Crazy."
The actor is also being immortalized on the internet.
A popular MEME is used of him as Willy Wonka giving a sarcastic "Tell me more" look, overlayed with a text of a political or fairly caustic observation.
