Flying the friendly skies got friendlier for Will and Grace alumni Debra Messing.

The actress was on a commercial plane when a flight attendant handed her a personal note, thanking her and Eric McCormack for their roles on the show.

The handwritten note on airline stationary read:

“D.M, You + Eric got me through my tough coming out years with ‘W+G’! So glad you fly with us. Thanks for everything! – Nick”

Excited and touched, Messing snapped a photo of the note card and tweeted it to McCormack:

“A note from a Flight Attendant. So grateful. @EricMcCormack”

Messing spent eight years playing opposite Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally and Eric McCormack on Will and Grace.

The show was constantly applauded for bringing television into the new millennium with focused LGBT subject matter.

It was the first sitcom with storylines based solely on an openly successful gay male character and his accepting friends.

The show ran from 1998 to 2006, and was nominated for 83 Emmys, winning 16 through its run.
