(Editor's note: "Tantrums and Tiaras: Battle of the Bar Queens 2015" returns on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Observatory North Park - formerly known as the North Park Theatre. The show is an over-the-top drag competition where representatives from some of the LGBT community’s bars with little or no drag experience compete for the crown. The event benefits The San Diego LGBT Community Center. Leading up to the event, we will profile the five contestants, but you'll have to buy tickets and go the show to find out their drag name and see them in full make-up! More information and tickets can be purchased HERE.)
Contestant Name: Santio Chico Cupon

First time in drag?
I was in study at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. I am the one of the Co-Founder of the Drag Fest that is presented at BSU. As a Resident Assistant and Public Relations Chair for the GBLT group on campus, I and two other RAs created an evening of pure entertainment, via Drag Queens! After college, I was cast in a show at Harvard's American Repertory Theatre. It was called "Island of Slave." This is where the resident actress, Karen MacDonald, gave me an official name, Landa Plenty. Also, this is where I was able to start to create my drag persona.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am entertainer at heart and profession. I was made in Miami, Florida, developed in Boston, Massachusetts. I am a theatrical actor, with film, TV and print experience. After leaving Walt Disney World, I moved to California to perform in the "Cirque de la Mer Show" at SeaWorld San Diego, as a clown for the show. Gave me the greatest opportunity to move to California, and stay! When I am not doing that show during the summer time, I am a drag queen throughout locations in San Diego. I have graced the stage repeatedly at Lips Restaurant, Urban Mos, Fiestas Cantina, Numbers and Richs. I am a well-rounded performer who loves to entertain the masses!
What are you most excited about?
I am most excited about having the ability to survive on my performance abilities. Ever since I graduated college with a non-related major and minor, I have been on many stages and performed varied styles of shows. I am most excited to see myself as a performer continue to grow!
What makes you most nervous about competing?
Well any true performer will tell you the rejection is the scariest. Are people going to like what I created for them? Are people going to like what I am wearing, what I say, how many times I say 'um" or even blink my eyes? As performers, we are always under the microscope. I always aim to please the majority and there have been times when I have failed. So I am nervous to not repeat my misfortunes.
Why are YOU going to win Tantrums & Tiaras?
Well one, the itching powder I bought is the strongest on the market. Also BITCH I AM FIERCE!!! LOL -- no for real, at the end of the day it's all for an amazing cause. Whoever the winner
Ladies and Gentleman, I am Santio Chico Cupon, contestant for Urban Mos. I understand I have big shoes to fill, literally. However, my goal is to represent Urban Mo's for who they are. Urban Mo's is an amazing company, that is all about having fun! A company that loves to think outside the box and come up with exciting events and fundraisers. A company that cherishes its patrons and employees. While representing Urban Mo's, I am going to hold those values while performing. I am going to make you laugh, I am going to show you creativity. I am going to show the love and dedication they have given me through my performance for you to enjoy!
