“Laurence Anyways” showing at Media Arts Center movie theater in North Park | VIDEO

SAN DIEGO – “Laurence Anyways,” writer-director Xavier Dolan's award-winning film about a man who desires to become his true self as a woman, is now screening through July 11 in San Diego.

The film is showing at the Media Arts Center San Diego’s 48-seat movie theater at 2921 El Cajon Blvd. in North Park.

Synopsis: “Laurence Anyways” tells the story of an impossible love between Frederique (Susanne Clement) and her long-term boyfriend Laurence (Melvil Poupaud), a man who reveals his inner desire to become his true self, a woman. Set during the late 1980s and early 1990s, the story spans a decade, chronicling the doomed love of Fred and Laurence, as well as the trials and tribulations that they face.
