NEW YORK – Internationally known DJ, remixer, producer and label owner Peter Rauhofer has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, his manager announced today on Rauhofer’s official Facebook page.
Here is the message left today to Rauhofer’s many fans:
Dear Friends and Loyal Fans,
As Peter Rauhofer's manager and dear friend for many years, it is my sad duty to announce that Peter was rushed to the emergency room several weeks ago. After confirming that Peter had a seizure, further testing has revealed a large brain tumor, something that has gone undiagnosed for quite some time.
At this time, Peter's family is working closely with a team of talented Neurologists to determine the overall best treatment option. Please be assured that he is getting the absolute finest care possible, twenty-four hours a day.
I know Peter would appreciate your kind consideration and positive energy during this extremely difficult period. We will post any updates and progress reports as they become available.
Feel free to post your condolences as well as check into this page for updates.
Rauhofer was born in Vienna, Austria, and makes New York City his home.
He won a Grammy Award in 2000 for Best Remixer of the Year for his remix of Cher’s “Believe.” He has been hailed for his remixes of Madonna, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Jessica Simpson, Pink and Mariah Carey.
Rauhofer has previously worked under the names Club 69 and Size Queen.
He is the main man behind the tribal house record label Star 69, where he is frequently a producer.
Rauhofer spins at clubs around the world and at gay circuit parties, and is considered one of the top DJs in demand.
