VALENCIA, Calif. -- Pop and dance music star Alexis Jordan will headline this year's "Out on the Mountain," a private LGBT party held each year at Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park.
The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 21.
Founded in 2008, Out on the Mountain was created by popular Los Angeles-based DJ Ray Rhodes. Unlike the more well-known Gay Days at Disneyland, Out on the Mountain is an official LGBT event, sponsored in part by Six Flags. Gay Days Anaheim, to be held Oct. 5-7 this year, is considered an "unofficial" event, in which LGBT people show up at the park while Disneyland is open to the general public.
More than 6,000 people are expected to attend this year's Out on the Mountain event, which take place from 6 pm to 1 am and only be open to those who purchase tickets to this special private party.
Some of the more popular Six Flags Magic Mountain thrill ride attractions that guests will be able to enjoy include Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom, Green Lantern: First Flight, Superman: Escape from Krypton, Batman the Ride, Tatsu, Apocalypse, The Riddler's Revenge and X2.
Along with 20-year superstar Jordan, well-known for her two Billboard dance hits "Happiness" and "Good Girl," other performers include Shangela of RuPaul's Drag Race fame; Rhodes, who will spin throughout the night; Daniel Joseph Baker who demonstrated his "fierceness" on last year's America's Got Talent; Ingenue, who was recognized as West Hollywood's "Outstanding Drag Diva" of 2008 and 2009; and DJ Steve Oaks of Southern California.
Organizers say that a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit local gay charities and organizations, including GLAAD, LA Gay & Lesbian Center's Lifeworks, The Center Long Beach, The Center Orange County, Pacific Pride Foundation, API Equality LA and USC LGBT Resource Center.
Tickets, which include free parking and admission to the event, are $37 if purchased online or $50 at the gate.
Tickets that include an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet in the picnic area from 7-9 pm are $50. VIP tickets are available for $150 and include a front-of-line wristband, all-you-can-eat dinner, beer/wine drink tickets for those 21 years and older, $10 in Bugs Bunny Bucks, and premium parking.
