For those of you still procrastinating about booking passage, you should know that the 2012 Atlantis Halloween cruise to Mexico is now almost completely sold out.
My sources tell me that the 3,000-passenger cruise ship is currently more than 95% filled, with just a few interior cabins left. So, if you are going to book, the time to do so would be NOW.
This year's cruise will be sailing out of Long Beach on the Carnival Splendor, and sailing south to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. The dates are from Oct. 28 to to Nov. 4, making it the first-ever Atlantis Halloween cruise (Oct. 31 -- Halloween -- falls midweek on a Wednesday this year).
As you know, this annual Mexican cruise is one of the premier events on the Southern California social calendar. As in past years, San Diego will be well-represented; besides myself, look for Justin Klevan, Bobby Vannoy, Ken Suazo, Chris Benavides, David Miller and many other local cruise veterans to be on board this year, joined by eager newcomers such as Jay Heimbach and Walter Orlando. In other words, it's going to be awesome! I'll have more to say on this as sail date approaches.
Montage Reunion returns this Saturday
The big event of the week will be this Saturday night at Spin, with the relaunch of the Montage Reunion:
"Michael Mack will bring back the magic of San Diego's former Club Montage, with the Montage Reunion at Spin Nightclub. Saturdays are back at Spin, and the Montage Reunion party will launch the new monthly parties at the club.
This event will include music by DJ Lil Chris in the Hip Hop room; with Spin's DJ Chris Braga opening for superstar New York DJ Brett Henrichsen on the main floor.
There will also be a special midnight performance by Debby Holiday.
Prepare for Montage to return every 3rd Saturday of the month at Spin! The Montage Reunion at Spin features a multi-level fun club with after hours until 4am. Remember, the less clothing, the better!"
Ha, I could not agree more with that last sentence! Plus one additional interesting point I should add: A legend from the past has returned to San Diego ... Boy Mike! She'll actually be on duty at Spin that night, appropriately resuming her duties as the Montage candy girl for this reunion event. Sweet!
So Much Fun group heads to L.A. this Saturday
Another exciting event that will be making its debut this weekend will be the So Much Fun limo bus field trip to L.A., organized by Stile Italiano owner Nico Stanzione. This month they are planning on visiting the Abbey up in West Hollywood.
Ticket sales for this trip are now closed, however, I spoke with Nico the other day and next month's excursion is definitely on. For $60, you'll get transportation to L.A., free drinks on the way up, and cover charge at the destination taken care of ... not a bad deal at all! So, stay tuned to their website above or their Facebook page for info on their upcoming northward adventures.
Sunday Hip Hop Tea Dance scheduled at 1202 nightclub
This weekend, the newly named 1202 nightclub (formerly Eden) will have its first-ever Sunday afternoon event, a hip hop tea dance hosted by Laur Darell, Torch Ward and the other boys at Global Male Production.
The event will feature live hip hop and R&B DJ's, the Global Male go-go dancers, $5 Svedka Vodka drinks and $4 Heinekens, and perhaps best of all: no cover.
End of Summer Splash 2012 at Martinis Above Fourth this Sunday
We have a couple of big charity events coming up this week as well.
The first will be this Sunday at Martinis Above Fourth, for the 2012 edition of their End of Summer Splash. This annual AIDS Walk fundraising event will once again showcase Olive Onemore, Tiffany Tanqueray, and several hot boys modeling summer fashion from Rufskin.
In addition to opportunity drawings and a silent auction, this year's event promises to have a "mystery guest performer in her debut performance" so, it should be interesting. The fun starts at 1 pm, and goes until 5 pm.
Fundraiser for Cecilia Manzo at Lips on Tuesday
The second event will be at Lips this Tuesday night at 7:15 pm, a fundraiser for Cecilia Manzo and her family, hosted by Disco Dollie and Lady O.
Admission is $40, which includes a fabulous prix fixe dinner and an even more fabulous show. Plus there will be raffles and a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Manzo family. Call for reservations: 619-295-7900.

And on Wednesday, the Young Professionals Council (YPC) invites you and your friends to come mingle, learn a little about their group in the back lounge of the newest Hillcrest watering hole, Uptown Tavern, at their monthly social.
They are also inviting participants to join and/or make a donation to their YPC AIDS Walk team, for which they still have slots available. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
