The long drought of danceless and eventless nights at Bourbon Street is now over!
The problems over permits I wrote about earlier have finally been taken care of, and as of last Thursday (where Benny Cartwright and Bunny Baxter hosted the return of the Wet contest to a packed house) the dance floor was open. And the event calendar restored with a lot of great special attractions on the horizon (click HERE for more details).
Be sure to stop by there tonight (Thursday), where Tori Heart will host a "Naughty or Nice" version of the Wet contest, and on Friday when SDPIX presents the Naughty Santa Party, featuring music by DJ Marcel Hetu and the opportunity to get your picture taken with the sexy elves of Dirty Tony. I hear that those who get on Tori's "naughty list" on Thursday will receive Bourbon Bucks to spend at the party on Friday.
Belt at Eden
Another very interesting event tonight (Thursday) is Belt at Eden, a pretty racy new promotion by the folks at CubClub. Inspired by a trip to Folsom Street Fair the team made back in September, they're hoping "to go beyond creating another leather bar night" and "tak[e] things a step forward and out of everyone's natural comfort zone."
So, expect not just performance art involving leather, but "other indulgences including but not limited to bondage, flogging, food, dom/sub relationships, blindfolds, puppy play and let's not forget feet." All brought to you by a whole cast of characters, including Glitz Glam, Anthony Rollar, Grace Towers, Disco Dollie, Dangilo Brian Bonilla, Art Torres, Derrol Murphy, DJ Shane Stiel and the CubClub go-go boys Max, David and Anthony.
Winter White Party at Rich's
Another big SDPIX event this week will be the Winter White Party at Rich's, where once again the club will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with white and snow-themed decorations, ice-covered go-go boys, music by DJ Nikno, and a special laser light show under a sky of twinkling lights.
And this will be an extra special night for Nikno as well ... he'll be debuting his first ever music remix! And no, I have no idea what song it will be ... he's been giving previews to no one. Hmmm, let the speculation begin …
You can view photos of past Winter White parties here. And there's no cover before 11 pm with either an SDPIX VIP sticker, or by texting SDPIX to 313131 and showing the resulting text message at the door.
Eighth annual Charity Wreath Auction at Martinis Above Fourth
This is going to be a big week for Jim Simpson and Doru Tifui, the new owners at Martinis Above Fourth. They are organizing their first Martinis Above Fourth Charity Wreath Auction this coming Monday, Dec. 12 ... officially, the eighth one in its annual history.
As in past years, all proceeds from the event will benefit The Queen Eddie Conlon Youth Fund, which provides school supplies, scholarships and housing for LGBT youth, some of whom have been turned away by their families.
Guests at the event will have the opportunity to bid on a number of hand created holiday wreaths, donated by individuals, businesses, and community organizations. But this is more than an auction, it's also a really fun show ... how it works is, auctioneer Lady Ajax will announce and describe each wreath, while one of a team of super sexy and shirtless "Wreath Boys" parades each wreath out to the audience for display. Much merriment ensues! In the past seven years, over $127,000 has been raised through this event.
Martinis Above Fourth will accept wreath and silent auction donations through Dec. 9. A free preview party will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10.
Admission to the Wreath Auction will be a $10 donation, and those who purchase a wreath or silent auction item will have the donation credited to their purchase. Doors open at 6 pm, and show begins at 7 pm.
