Patrons will receive free cover with donation of three canned items for Mama's Kitchen
SAN DIEGO -- Many bar and nightclub owners say that the night before Thanksgiving is one of the biggest party nights of the year. Since few people work or have other obligations other than eating on Thanksgiving, it makes for a perfect night out.
Eden and SDPIX have teamed up to host “The Biggest Party of the Year” on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 23, as a charity fundraiser.
Club manager Daniel Schulz hopes that people will come out and celebrate before getting caught up in their family holiday routines.
“At Eden, we are offering our guests a place to let loose, be themselves and at the same time be amongst friends before they get locked into their traditional two-hour feeding frenzy followed by countless hours of football while the women are in the kitchen doing dishes – at least that’s how it was when I was growing up,” Schulz said.
The evening will also serve as a food drive for Mama’s Kitchen. Guests who donate three canned items upon entrance will receive complimentary admission.
Schulz said that the nightlife and dining facility is doing what it can to support the services of Mama’s Kitchen, which provides meal service 365-days a year to San Diegans living with HIV/AIDS or cancer.
Last week, a “Prohibition Night” was held at Eden to benefit Mama’s Kitchen, and Schulz says the club has offered to host four events and an additional $20,000 worth of services to the organization in 2012.
“The Biggest Party of the Year” will feature music by DJ Schoeny, along with a special set by DJ Who and Paulo Da Rosa. Schulz said the pair will “bring music unlike anything Hillcrest has seen before,” bringing a new genre of club music called “Electronic Party Rock,” which is a combination of house music paired with live electric guitar sets.
Those who arrive early will be treated to a hosted 42Below vodka bar between 10 and 11 pm.
For those who do not bring a canned goods donation, cover is $10.
Eden is located at 1202 University Ave. in Hillcrest.
