SAN DIEGO – What a deal for film festival fans: Through July 4, FilmOut San Diego will be selling a festival pass for half-price.

FilmOut’s 13th annual LGBT Film Festival will take place this year over two consecutive weekends: Aug. 19-21 and Aug. 26-28.

The special deal is for $75 for the festival pass, which will cost $150 after July 4.

In addition, a “2fer pass” will sell for $125 through July 4, then after that will go up to $250 for two passes.

The festival pass entitles the holder to attend both the opening and closing night parties, valued at $50.

More than 50 films, including shorts and documentaries, will be presented at the film festival, which is held at Birch North Park Theatre, 2891 University Ave. in the North Park neighborhood.

The Birch also hosts FilmOut’s monthly fundraising screenings, including the next one, John Waters’ “Female Trouble,” which will unspool at 7 pm Wednesday, July 13.

The film festival selections will be announced in early July.
