Jim Winsor’s Out & About: More White Party news, plus St. Patrick's Day

Producer Jeffrey Sanker has announced the White Party Palm Springs headliner for the Saturday night main event at the Palm Springs Convention Center: It will be Swedish pop sensation Robyn.

They're also bringing in from Las Vegas, erotic acrobats from Zumanity to perform live throughout the evening.

In addition, edgy British pop-rocker Natalia Kills will perform at the Closing Party on Sunday night, along with Wynter Gordon. And there are even more surprises on the way, reportedly.

For example, something new this year called The White Party Concert Series. This will be a showcase of some of the freshest rising talent found on today’s music scene, taking place from noon to 1 pm at Saturday’s Spring Break Pool Party at the Renaissance Hotel. The Concert Series performers will be announced shortly.

And, due to better-than-expected demand, two additional host hotels have been added - the Zoso and the Hilton, both conveniently within walking distance of the weekend’s festivities.

But regardless of where you're staying, be sure to roll into the Renaissance host hotel early enough on Friday to take part in the White Party’s NOH8 Adam Bouska photo shoot, to the right of the lobby from 3 to 5 pm.

St. Patty's Day today

Today is St. Patrick's Day ... a day to wear green, pinch people who are not, eat traditional Irish food, and drink a lot. And as such, a few of the local watering holes here are commemorating the day with appropriate festivities:

Redwing in North Park, for example, is serving up complimentary corned beef and cabbage for as long as supplies last, starting at 4 pm, along with $3.50 beers and $5 Irish Car Bombs.

Urban Mo's, Baja Betty's and Gossip Grill all have $10.99 corned beef and cabbage specials on the menu today too, along with beer specials and St. Patty's giveaways all day long.

And if you're in the mood to venture outside the gayborhood tonight, there's always the big Miller Lite shamROCK festival tonight down in the Gaslamp, from 4 pm until midnight.
