LOS ANGELES – The midseason debut of “Glee” brought an unexpected bonus, coach Sue Sylvester going “Vogue” in preparation for next week’s special tribute to Madonna.
The “Vogue” music video was a hilarious homage to Madonna as actress Jane Lynch, who is openly gay, spoofed the pop music legend. Lynch performed as the sharp-tongued cheerleading coach on “Glee” and got assistance from co-stars Amber Riley and Chris Colfer, who plays the gay teen on the show.
The “Glee” music video was done in black and white, just like Madonna’s version, and Lynch was even coiffed and dressed a la Madonna. She even “vogued” in the notorious cone bra.
Listen carefully as some of the lyrics were tweaked to poke fun at Sue Sylvester’s “enemies” at McKinley High School in Ohio, including glee club advisor Will Schuester.
"Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire. Sue Sylvester, dance on air...Lauren, Katherine, Lana too. Will Schuester, I hate you," she sings.
