DK Hair, located in Hillcrest, is an innovative hair salon that specializes in the latest color and styles within an edgy, artistic and distinctive creative environment.
On November 6 and 7, DK Hair will transform its urban location into a performance space for the bi-annual festival produced by the PGK Project, titled “San Diego Dances.” The PGK Project is a critically acclaimed contemporary dance company based in San Diego featuring the award winning choreography of Peter G. Kalivas.
Kalivas has been a highly sought after and respected Master teacher, lecturer and consultant on dance for more than twenty years with performances and productions worldwide. His credentials range from local contributions and work at The La Jolla Playhouse and The San Diego Opera’s Young Singers Summer Workshop to Cultural Envoy and Ambassador to the US State Department of Education and Culture.
As the Artistic Director and founder of The PGK Project, his goal is to provide affordable, entertaining performances of the highest quality that promote community, accessibility and diversity through dance.
The “San Diego Dances” production theme, Without Walls, will feature dances created and performed by Bradley Lundberg, La Diego Dance Theatre, DK Dance, Mojalet Dance Collective, Erica Buechner and Dancers and The PGK Project .
Showtime begins at 7:30 P.M. nightly and each performance will conclude with a reception at Jakes on Sixth. Save and present your ticket stub at Jakes for a complementary glass of wine.
