Longtime activist Nicole Murray-Ramirez shared his history of San Diego's pride celebration with us and we are publishing it below.
Before I was called names like faggot, freak, queer, or it, I was called things like wetback, beaner, greaser, etc. As an activist in the 1960s and 1970s, I was beaten up and threatened by both the Los Angeles and San Diego Police Departments.
