The  Reverend William (Billy) Franklin  Graham Jr.(1918- 2018) has died at the age of 99. Too often, hagiographies are painted when people die, especially of ministers. The televangelist, however, is not deserving of such high praises. 

In an opinion piece for Attitude Magazine, UK writer Dylan James says that the younger generation of “queer kids” are enjoying a gilded age virtually free of problems.

For Black History Month on Valentine’s Day 2018, I’m showing my love for Mildred Loving (1942-2008).

She’s often overlooked in the pantheon of African American trailblazers celebrated in February.

With 2018 being the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination, commemorations honoring the man will be taking place across the country.

Frederick Douglas is dead. This February during  Black History Month Americans across the country will commemorate the bicentennial of his birthday. Last year this time, however, President Donald J. Trump didn’t appear to know this fact.

President Trump’s proclivity for racist remarks comes as no surprise to me. His now- infamous comment stating a preference for immigrants coming from a Scandinavian country like Norway than from Africa and Haiti which he depicts as “shithole” countries with nothing to offer the U.S is based solely on his ignorance (Also, Mr. President, Africa is a continent.).

Last week the Think Red Project (presenters of Red Dress Party San Diego) officially made its $30,000 donation to its primary beneficiary, the San Diego HIV Funding Collaborative (SDHFC).
