The virtual clinic helps transgender and nonbinary adults complete paperwork to obtain a court order for name and(or) gender-marker changes on official documents.
The Center proudly uplifts the USD School of Law Transgender and Nonbinary Name and Gender-Marker Change Clinic that will take place on the second Tuesday of each month starting January 2021.
The clinic helps transgender and nonbinary adults complete paperwork to obtain a court order for name and(or) gender-marker changes on official documents (e.g. passports) and also helps parents and guardians complete the paperwork for their transgender or nonbinary minor children. In addition, the clinic helps petitioners complete filing fee waiver requests if they are unable to pay the court fee of $435. Finally, the clinic provides advice on a "suggested route" for changing identity documents once the signed court order is obtained.
All services are provided virtually and appointments are mandatory and spaces fill up fast. For information or appointments, email TransClinic.SanDiego@gmail.com
