The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus assembled some of Hillcrest’s most eligible and handsome bachelors for their Annual Bachelor Auction.

In an age when we are totally at the mercy of our phones, and tablets with dating and hook-up apps, it’s time to sit down to dinner with a live person and really get to know them.

And these single dudes have a wide array of backgrounds, talents and stories which you may not normally get to hear if you weren’t sitting next to them having a stimulating meal.

San Diego Gay and Lesbian News went to the SDGMC Facebook page and read each of the contestant’s profiles which we have provided below.

The only way you’re going to get to know these guys is to bid high and often. Plus, all the money goes to a good cause.

Here they are:

Chris (pictured above)

Chances are you may have already met Chris. He always stands out in the crowd while working at MO's Bar and GrillRich's San Diego and for San Diego Pix. He's got that winning combination of boyish charm and extraordinary talent having studied voice at the New England Conservatory of Music.

When you first meet Brandon, it’s his smile that wins your heart, but it’s his Iowa-sweet charm that makes you know he’s someone special. A public health veterinarian, Brandon has only lived in San Diego for eight months but he’s already out and about, including singing with SDGMC. He enjoys exploring new places and having a picnic when on a date. He likes fresh seafood, the song “Alexander Hamilton” and, if you ask nicely, he’ll show that he can do a back flip!

is the CEO, founder and artist at House of Plenty and one of the most amazing performers you’ll see including at the main stage Sea World shows. Originally from Boston, Santio has made his home in San Diego and is a first tenor with SDGMC where he is often performing center stage.

Ruggedly cute and sexy best describes Seán, a popular barback/bartender at Flicks and on staff at the neighboring Mankind men’s clothing store. Originally from Milwaukee, he’s lived in San Diego for five years and likes men who have a big smile. Sean’s perfect date would involve pizza, beer, laughter and the chance to play with someone’s dog. And oh yeah, Sean can lick his own nose.

As one of our most famous guest celebrities, Benny Cartwright is known and loved throughout our community, both for his incredible personality but also for his years of dedication to making life better for so many people. He currently serves as Director of Community Outreach at the San Diego LGBT Community Center and in a past life, served as SDGMC’s executive director. If you know Benny, you know he’s an outgoing and fun guy who’s created his own scene—a bit quirky, a bit casual, a bit trendy, but always very “Benny!”

You may have seen our celebrity guest bachelor Luis on TV as the host of an entertainment show in Mexico. Today, Luis works at UC San Diego Medical Center as a clinical staff trainer. The native San Diegan defines tall, dark and handsome standing at 6’3” with smoldering brown eyes. His favorite song is Sia’s “Never Give Up,” loves Italian food and his celebrity crushes are Michael Fassbender and The Biggest Loser’s host Bob Harper. Luis' favorite quote: "Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

Some guys were made to dance, and Eric’s one of them. He’ll appear with SDGMC again this spring in our Broadway Now show displaying his ability to heat up a dance floor with just his mischievous grin. Not only does he have the moves, but Eric can wiggle his nose like a bunny. He’s a San Diego native, describes himself as a bleeding heart hippie and his ideal date is a trip to the dog park. Woof! Woof!

If you like guys who are handsome and caring, look no further than Ryan. He’s a graduate nursing student who moved to San Diego just 20 months ago. He has an incredible smile which he would put to good use on his ideal date of dining and then strolling through Balboa Park. Ryan loves Italian food and plays a mean alto/tenor sax.

Meet Mark, a second tenor who just moved to San Diego eight months ago. Originally from Baltimore, this interior designer is already in the swing of SoCal and says "While I might be a Silver Fox, I still like to laugh and have fun. Come to Disney with me and you'll see that I really am just a big kid!" Mark loves shrimp, a guy with a nice smile and dates that include a picnic outside.

Originally from Memphis, Ryan is a multi-talented bass singer and actor having appeared recently in the Lyceum Theatres' Billy Elliot The Musical. The perfect date for this handsome lab technician combines Disneyland on an uncrowded day, riding every ride possible and ending with fireworks. Ryan's celebrity crush is Chris Pratt (the Jurassic Park version) and he loves to eat sushi with chopsticks!

If you've seen an SDGMC show, then you've already experienced the man who is widely recognized as one of the nation's most innovative, charismatic and talented new Artistic Directors, RC Haus. Dressed in a formal black tux or red t-shirt, RC can switch from maestro to mimosas with more grace than a Cary Grant movie.

Meet handsome and athletic Matt whose idea of a perfect date is engaging in conversation while doing something sporty. So it's no surprise that on any given weekend, you'll find him on the softball field playing for his team, the Wrecking Ballz. Matt is an amazing baritone singer, his favorite food are Tic Tacs and Tom Hardy is his official celebrity crush.

David Decker and Fernando López

They may not be a bachelor or single, but you couldn’t ask for better dinner companions than our wonderful guest celebrity couple David and Fernando. They are both talented singers and David, a banker by day, sings with SDGMC while Fernando is a member of our alumni club. You’ll be seeing a lot of Fernando in the coming months as the highly respected and very popular Director of Operations for Pride. Ask them how they met and you’ll hear about that one night at Flicks when they caught each other’s eye during karaoke night.

Meet local realtor Chris who is originally from Salt Lake City. He stands out in a crowd not just because he's six-feet tall, but also for his big smile and friendly laugh. Chris loves Thai food, sings First Tenor in the Chorus and recently starred in a worldwide viral video! His perfect date is a bottle of wine and good conversation.

One of the handsome and talented bachelors you'll meet is Richard, Vice President of Sales and Operations for EOS Fitness (check out the great EoS location on Sports Arena Blvd.). Richard sings an amazing First Tenor and enjoys meat lasagna, sailing and guys with nice eyes.
