SAN DIEGO, California -- At its annual wine tasting event last Thursday at Bourbon Street in University Heights, Mama’s Kitchen raised over $25,000 for its services.
The event, held for the past 19 years, is one of the organization’s major fundraisers and attracts guests from all over the county to sip wine, mix, mingle and raise money for Mama’s Kitchen’s meal delivery service.
Mama’s Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers three meals a day, for seven days a week, at no charge to men, women and children affected by AIDS/HIV or cancer.
This year’s theme was “Which Wine Are You?” and guests were encouraged to wear red or white to show which type of wine they favor. The evening also included live entertainment, a “Wine Deck” drawing, and an opportunity drawing.
Bourbon Street has hosted and sponsored the event for many years.
