SAN DIEGO, California -- Mama's Kitchen's 19th annual Wine Tasting fundraiser, presented by Revivals, will be held Thursday, Aug. 21 from 6-9 pm at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill in University Heights.
The community is invited to purchase tickets to this event, as proceeds go directly to the daily operations of Mama’s Kitchen, a local nonprofit that prepares and delivers three meals a day, for seven days a week, at no charge to men, women and children affected by AIDS/HIV or cancer. Party-goers will experience eclectic wine tastings with pours throughout the evening, while enjoying a selection of hors d’oeuvres.
"Our annual wine tasting event has become one of our signature and more important events,” said Alberto Cortés, executive director of Mama’s Kitchen. "The event provides a fun and relaxing opportunity for attendees to learn about how we provide life-sustaining nutrition to our neighbors battling AIDS or cancer. We are thankful to all who attend and support our mission."
This year’s theme, “Which Wine Are You?” encourages guests to wear red or white to show which type of wine they favor. In addition to great wine, food and company, event highlights include music by Stage 4 Jazz Band, a “Lucky Ticket” Silent Auction featuring gift packages from San Diego’s premiere dining and entertainment venues, as well as Mama’s Kitchen’s popular “Wine Deck” Drawing, where guests purchase a playing card for a 1-in-52 chance to take home a premium wine vault.
This year’s event marks the return of the Wine Bottle Ring Toss, a fun and competitive opportunity to win bottles of wine donated by generous companies and individuals. Attendees who bring five items to donate to the Mama’s Pantry service will receive three free rings to toss. The items to bring are among the most requested items by pantry clients and are donations of cereal, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, canned tuna or salmon. Participants should wear red or white to get an extra ring toss.
Pre-sale tickets are available for $60, and tickets sold at the door are $70. For more information and to purchase tickets, click HERE or call 619-233-6262.
