Gratitude and commitment

My personal belief is that allowing homosexuals to serve openly would be the right thing to do. I cannot escape being troubled by the fact that we have in place a policy which forces young men and women to lie about who they are in order to defend their fellow citizens.

As a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, I think that it is a shame to ask service members to wait on a study until they receive the same benefits and are able to live openly as their heterosexual counterparts are able to do.

DADT discharges down again in 2009
