SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego LGBT Community Center has opened registration for the 2013 AIDS Walk & Run, taking place Sunday, Sept. 29. The annual HIV/AIDS fundraising event will include the walk, a Track and Field certified 10L run, and a new street obstacle course.
More than 8,000 people are expected to participate in the event which typically raises more than $400,000 to support local organizations that provide services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
This year's event will feature a new route for the both 5K and 10K run and also include the new "Street Challenge," which is an "obstacle meets boot camp" style course through the Martson Point area of Balboa Park. The challenge will be a high-energy, challenging route.
Participants can participate in AIDS Walk & Run as an individual or as part of a team.
Registration is $35 for adults for the walk and run, and $25 for youth. The "Street Challenge" is $50, but the fee will increase on July 15.
