Nonprofits across the country - including two San Diego organizations - will encourage their supporters to contribute to them on Thursday, May 9 through a new online and Social Media initiative called "Give OUT Day." The program includes an online giving site being administered by Razoo.com making it very easy for potential donors to make a donation.
According to Give OUT Day administrators, the campaign is a new national initiative to mobilize giving by individuals on a single day across the country to the LGBT nonprofit community.
Give OUT Day will be breaking new ground as it adapts a fundraising model that has proven successful for local multi-issue fundraising to a national single-issue focus. "Giving day" campaigns across the country have been successful at raising millions of dollars for local nonprofits. The model has been successful in bringing in new donors and new dollars for many organizations, complimenting and amplifying their existing fundraising efforts.
Bolder Giving is sponsoring Give OUT Day and has taken the lead in building the giving platform, raising prize money, generating media attention, and supporting nonprofits in their fundraising as part of the day. Working with Razoo, Bolder Giving has created a web-platform and marketing materials for Give OUT DAY.
Bolder Giving raised the funds to cover the development and management of Give OUT Day, making it free for participating nonprofits.
Donors simply log on to the Give OUT Day website and search for any participating nonprofit or type of organization and make a donation.
Organizers are also encouraging use of the hashtag #GiveOUTDay to encourage support via Social media.
While donors can contribute to these organizations at any time, they will make an extra push on Thursday.
