Benefit and Charissa Kolich remembrance to raise money for local arts programs

SAN DIEGO -- Taylor's HeArt Gallery and Lis(t)en will present a fundraiser to benefit ARTS (A Reason To Survive) as part of a night of remembrance for Charissa “Chazzy” Kolich.

The event will be at 6 pm Thursday, March 14, at the Range Kitchen & Cocktails, 1220 University Ave.

Highlight of the event will be the showing of the 2012 Oscar-winning documentary, “Inocente,” which was shot in San Diego. The documentary star is a student of the ARTS program, and has gone on to be self-sufficient due to the documentary and its exposure.

Heidi Hughes and Ashley J. will perform, and DJ Heabnasty will entertain the crowd.

Jade Harrington Boudreaux and Morgan Seibert have donated artwork for the raffle/donation. Art and photographs will be on display and for sale, and proceeds will benefit Taylor's HeArt Gallery and ARTs.

Carole Kuck, Alberta Street Owls, Linda Kelly, Sue Doyle and Vanessa Dubois will be among the artists and photographers whose work will be on exhibit.

Charissa Kolich, a beloved member of San Diego’s LGBT community, died on March 13, 2012 at the age of 36. She had battled inoperable brain cancer for nearly two years. Friends will remember Kolich during the fundraiser.
