SAN DIEGO -- Community members are invited to Stepping Stone's fifth annual Winter Tea, taking place this Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5-7:30 pm.
The event, which is hosted by the organization's board of directors, will celebrate the holiday season and honor Stepping Stone's volunteers. Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about Stepping Stone and its services, meet the staff, and find out how they can support the organization's life-saving work.
Stepping Stone operates the only alcohol and other drug treatment center that focuses on the LGBT and HIV-positive community. Founded in 1976, the organization has helped thousands of San Diegans on their path to recovery through its state of the art programs and services.
The organization also recently announced the appointment of Catherine Aquino as its interim executive director, following the sudden departure of John deMiranda, who had been at the helm of the organization since 2008.
Aquino will be on hand at the event to meet attendees and provide a brief update on Stepping Stone's future.
The event will take place at "The Stone," located at 3767 Central Ave. in City Heights.
