Holiday fundraiser to benefit new Family Health Centers of San Diego facility

SAN DIEGO -- Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) will host a fundraiser on Thursday, Dec. 13, to raise crucial money for the new Downtown Family Health Center, which will be located on the ground floor of the new permanent supportive housing facility in downtown, Connections Housing.

The event, titled “Home & Healthy for the Holidays,” will be held at the W Hotel in downtown San Diego from 5-8 pm.

Proceeds from “Home & Healthy for the Holidays” will be used to cover the cost of medical and mental health care for homeless patients with no financial means, as well as the purchase of medical equipment for the health center.

An impressive list of local dignitaries comprise the Honorary Host Committee including Congresswoman Susan Davis, former Sen. Christine Kehoe, Assemblymember Toni Atkins, Board of Supervisors Chairman Ron Roberts, former Mayor Jerry Sanders, Council President Pro Tem Kevin Faulconer and Council President Todd Gloria.

The Host Committee also includes prominent leaders who are working to end homelessness in downtown including Fran Butler-Cohen of Family Health Centers of San Diego; Richard Gentry of the San Diego Housing Commission; Jeff Graham of Civic San Diego; Donna Jones of Sheppard Mullin and who is chair of Civic San Diego; Jennifer LeSar, president and CEO of LeSar Development Consultants; businessman Fred Maas; Ending Homelessness in Downtown San Diego Campaign co-chair Robin Madaffer; Alpha Project’s Bob McElroy; Joel John Roberts of PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and Affirmed Housing’s Jim Silverwood.
