OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- The North County LGBTQ Resource Center will host an open house for parents and others who are curious about the LGBT community and the center's programs on Friday, Sept. 28, from 7-9 pm.
Advertised as an event for parents, tutors, legal guardians and/or adults with questions about the LGBT community, the North County LGBTQ Resource Center will be present a panel during the event, which will address issues such as LGBTQ culture, how to best support LGBTQ youth, and mental, physical and spiritual health issues affecting youth.
The panel will include parents of other LGBTQ youth, faith-based allies, and legal, mental and health care professionals.
Those with questions will be able to ask them anonymously to assure that everyone present feels most comfortable.
Refreshments will be served, and resource materials will be available.
