SAN DIEGO -- Mama's Kitchen's second annual bar games tournament, "Man Diego," will take place tonight from 6-9 pm at True North Tavern in North Park.
The organization puts on the fundraiser to attract a younger set of donors and volunteers, which are vital to the continued growth of nonprofits like Mama's Kitchen.
Teams of men and "wo"men will compete in various bar games for the title of "Man Diego Champion," and for a number of prizes from local businesses such as True North Tavern, The Art of Shaving, Urban Solace and Harney Sushi. Spectators are also welcome to attend to cheer on participants.
While it is not too late to register, a number of teams have already formed. Some of the teams that will be participating tonight have named themselves: "Our Wives Made Us Do It," "BROchachos," "The Mustachios" and "Team Radio Sophie."
Games include "Beer Head Ring Toss," "Hotshot Hoops," "Quarters," "Tailgate Washer Toss," "Tower of Power Cup Relays," "Cut Throat Poo," and for the championships, "Out Eat Pete" taco eating contest.
Team registration will be open until 6 pm today at True North Tavern, 3815 30th St. in North Park.
Registration for a team of two people is $60 and includes games, two T-shirts, two complimentary drinks, food, and two faux 'staches. Spectator tickets are $15 and include food and one complimentary drink.
