SAN DIEGO -- To continue their tradition of spreading joy in San Diego, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will present their 2011 Legacy Concert on Saturday, July 23, at 5 pm.
The event, which will include performances by a number of local musical groups, will benefit the San Diego LGBT Community Center's youth programs.
Groups like the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus, the San Diego Women's Chorus, In aChord and other community talent will perform.
Refreshments will be served and audience members will also have the opportunity to browse a number of community information tables and participate in a silent auction.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are part of an international "leading-edge Order of 21st century queer nuns" who are "dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt." While the organization began in San Francisco in 1979, a chapter was not organized in San Diego until 2005.
Suggested donation for the concert is $10, although the Sisters say "we wouldn't dream of turning anyone away." Doors open at 5 pm, with the musical performances at 7 pm.
The Center is located at 3909 Centre St. in Hillcrest. For more information, click HERE.
