SAN DIEGO -- Tickets are now available for the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation's (SDHDF) annual Foundation Night, to be held June 11 at Anthology, 1337 India St. in Little Italy.

This year's event will celebrate the organization's 15-years of service to the LGBT community.

SDHDF was founded in 1996 with a gift from the estate of Lincoln Aston in the amount of $32,000. Today, SDHDF is the third largest LGBT-focused community foundation in the United States, distributing over $2 million in grants to local non-profits.

As part of its 15th anniversary celebration, SDHDF plans to announce the launch of its new LGBT senior initiative, Aging with Dignity. The new program is part of the foundation's recently developed five-year plan to be a catalyst for positive social change.

"We are looking forward to celebrating our 15th anniversary with our friends and supporters," said Robert Wright, event co-chair and board vice president. "You won’t want to miss the great entertainment (think Abba and Billy Joel!) and excellent cuisine! The evening will be a fitting occasion to recognize past patronage and our exciting future."

The event will include dinner, entertainment, dancing, and the presentation of two new awards established in honor of the organization's anniversary: The Founder's Award and the Aging with Dignity Award.

The Founder’s Award will recognize an individual that has made a significant and lasting contribution to the community. The Aging with Dignity Award will be presented to an individual for outstanding service on behalf of San Diego’s LGBT seniors.

Award recipients will be announced soon.
