Be part of the voice that retains an LGBT-friendly city council district
SAN DIEGO – The Community Leadership Council's LGBT Redistricting Task Force is working to ensure the survival of an LGBT-friendly city council district. This dedicated team is working hard to make the LGBT presence felt by the Redistricting Commission, but we need the help of the community.
The next critical meeting is the Redistricting Commission in-district meeting for District 3 to be held on Monday, May 2. The meeting will be held at 6 pm at the Regional Transportation Center Showroom located at 4001 El Cajon Blvd. in City Heights.
This meeting will be the big push in front of the Redistricting Commission. There will be several key speakers presenting our case for the preservation of a LGBT-friendly district. It is at this meeting that we need the full support of the community.
Redistricting matters, because more than campaigns, cash or candidates, district lines determine who will make major decisions about your life for the next decade.
The LGBT Redistricting Taskforce is coordinating all efforts in this regard to ensure the continuity and integrity of our collective community message to the Commission.
Come show support for the preservation of a LGBT-friendly district.
After the meeting, there will be a celebration at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, 4612 Park Blvd. in University Heights.
