SAN DIEGO -- More than 4,000 two-legged and 1,500 four-legged friends will take part in the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA’s 17th annual Walk for Animals on Saturday, May 7.
The event, titled Barkin’ Beach Bash, raises money so the organization can continue its wide range of programs to serve animals in the county.
Along with the walk, the event will include a complimentary pancake breakfast, doggie games, information booths, music and other festivities and activities that the entire community is welcome to participate in.
The organization hopes to raise $500,000 through the three-quarter mile walk, and encourages interested participates to sign-up online and begin fundraising now. The registered walker who raises the most money online through April 15 will win an Apple iPad 2.
The walk and festival will take place at Crown Point Shores, located in Mission Bay.
